My BIG ELEPHANT EARS

So my pops told me that I have "ears like an elephant". I wasn't sure what an elephant was because I never seen one in real life so I decided to google and I found this.

First I must say WOW! Imagine that coming up and snuggling with ya at bed time. Now I know I have big ears but really pops? REALLY? Now let's take a look at my ears..

Now look. I do know I have big ears. My mom calls me "flops" because they flop around when I walk and run. And they blow elegantly in the breeze when I am in the car. But they are no where near the size of an elephant. NO OFFENSE TO MY ELEPHANT PALS OUT THERE. I think my ears give me character. They are also great for listening. Do you know how many TIMES I listen to my humans? They are always chatting me up with their problems which I don't mind! That's what I am here for! But I will take this time to admit that I do ignore my humans sometimes. And those times are when I hear these words.

Those are the only times I "pretend" I don't hear my humans. What can I say? I am a sneaky Beagle! When I am comfortably sleeping on the king size bed in a mountain of pillows and they tell me to get down I simply do not want to get down! How would they like it if I woke them up from a peaceful sleep? Oh wait. I do that. But I am a Beagle and I am cute so I am allowed to. But I do whip right back up in shape when I hear the words

Now by gun they mean the spray bottle. I HATE the spray bottle with all my heart. But here is a funny story. While my humans were out for the day they let the spray bottle out in the open. And what did I do? I chews that spray nozzle right off! They bought another spray bottle and I did the same thing! BOL! Serves them right. I heard them talk about buying a new bottle but maybe they will be smarter and NOT let it out in the open.

So my mom got a new phone. Great right? WRONG. She now loves using it to take pics me of even when I am trying to snooze! Can't a Beagle catch some shut eye. And some pics that she finds "adorable" are absolutely embarrassing!

I just woke up from a nap. And I wake up to CLICK FLASH! Now she think's it's "cute". Me? NOT SO MUCH!

REALLY MOM?? Geez you don't see me putting my paws on pop's camera and snapping pics while you are drooling away!

Now there are more pics. Perhaps I will post them. But right now. I am going to go lay down. I hope she doesn't come around with that dang camera again!

My Pal Beans Makes A Point

I was just reading my pal's Bean's blog. If you haven't followed him or joined his blog you should. His twitter is @beanemachine and his blog is http://beansthebeagle.blogspot.com/. His entry about his birthday made a great point. Not all doggies/animals out there are as lucky as we are. We both live with humans who love us unconditionally. They provide us with the necessities food, water, shelter and the fun stuff toys, treats, kisses, hugs, and oh so fun play time. They love us with all their hearts and will do ANYTHING for us. We repay them back the best way we can with tons of Beagle hugs/kisses and our love. But the sad truth not all animals are as lucky as we are. They don't have the luxury of lounging in bed all day with humans, playing in the backyard or doggie park, experiencing the simple act of hearing "good boy/girl" while receiving tons of belly rubs and kisses. Instead they are  either living in shelters or on the streets. Some are being abused, tortured, or thrown into fighting rings. Some will never feel the experience of having a human give them love. This saddens my big Beagle heart. My heart aches for my other anipals out there who don't have FUREVER homes or live their lives being tortured and abused. My humans volunteer at our local animal control/SPCA. They see the worst of human nature. But they do what they can to help the animals in need. They are always rescuing and saving animals whenever they can. In fact. My kitty sister Meow-Meow and Tiger Lily are 2 of the animals they rescued. Meow-Meow was a pregnant stray that came up to our porch one morning. Due to the excessive heat my humans brought her in. And in a stroke of luck the following day Meow-Meow gave birth to 5 healthy beautiful babies! They helped raise and adopt them all out to awesome FUREVER homes. Right now they are still fostering Meow-Meow and Tiger Lily *Meow-Meow's daughter*! And before Meow-Meow they took in 4 abandoned kittens that they helped raised and adopt out to wonderful FUREVER homes. These are just 2 stories of animals they helped saved. They make it their life to help animals and never ask for anything in return. All they want is for all animals to have the opportunity to live their lives in pure happiness. If all humans would take the time to volunteer in anyway they can to help animals then the staggering number homeless/abused animal list could drop significantly. So I am asking all the humans out there to take the time to volunteer. Whether it's making flyers for your local shelter, sharing links on Facebook, walking dogs, cleaning cat cages, or spending quality time with shelter animals please take the time to do so. Sparing an hour or so out of your day could mean the life of an animal out there!

H.O.T.

It is HOT OUTSIDE. Thank goodness I have the inside and AC and fan blowing all the cool air around me. :) I am hoping my other furry friends are staying cool. And a reminder to the HUMANS out there. When temps are as high as they are today *103* make sure you bring your doggy in. We can't STAND the heat and it is super dangerous! Also make sure you give us plenty of fresh cool H20 and ice cube are ALWAYS fun :). Happy Friday all!
